Position: Assistant Accountant

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Job Description:

As an Assistant Accountant at Tiger Brands, Africa’s largest listed manufacturer of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), you will play a vital role in supporting financial accountants.

Your responsibilities will include processing manual journals, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and contributing to financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post financial journal entries
• Conduct month-end GL reconciliations
• Compile GL site YE packs, analyzing income and expense accounts for tax pack purposes
• Assist with audit queries and provide necessary information and explanations as required

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Newly qualified CA SA or CIMA graduate
• Accounting degree with 2+ years of total experience, including 1-2 years of accounting and administrative experience

Key Attributes and Competencies:

• Strong communication skills
• Business analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong finance business background
