Position Overview: Engage in all facets of the Apprenticeship program, including assisting in vehicle repairs under expert supervision, adhering to MerSETA guidelines, mastering level tests, and achieving qualification within the designated timeframe.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
- Attend scheduled technical/level training courses.
- Assist in vehicle repairs to gain practical experience under Technician supervision.
- Prepare diligently for level tests to meet qualification deadlines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Adhere to workplace safety protocols and regulations.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 with Pure Maths and Physical Science.
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
- Clear criminal record.
- Mechanical insight and technical aptitude advantageous.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Competent in operating manufacturer diagnostic equipment/computers.
- Physically capable of performing heavy work associated with the role.
- Manual dexterity and enjoyment of hands-on work.
- Adaptability to noisy environments.
- Strong eyesight and hand-eye coordination.
- Proficient in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and vehicle fault finding.
- Mental acuity and alertness.
