Bonang Matheba’s love life has been a talking subject for as long as she has been in the entertainment world.

There have been moments when it seemed like Queen B might find a king, and other times when it seemed like she would have to continue expanding her empire on her own.

By all accounts, Bonang is still open to finding love but since her break-up with AKA at the end of 2017, that quest is still ongoing. In the meantime, here is a concise chronology chronicling Bonang’s love life over the last few years.

Which of these famous exes do you remember?

Slikour

Bonang describes Slikour as her finest ever boyfriend. They dated in 2007 and broke up on good terms. They stayed friends for the rest of their lives.

Da Les

Although Da L.E.S and Bonang were never officially linked, numerous credible sources have alleged that they had a brief affair.

Siphiwe Tshabalala

When Bonang was hosting Kaizer Chiefs TV, she was rumoured to be dating one of the team’s key players, Siphiwe Tshabalala. Unfortunately, the romance between them never really took off because they only went on a few dates.

Euphonik

Could Mzansi entertainment ever boast a more divisive ex-lover than Euphonik? No, I don’t think so is the likely response to that inquiry.

The relationship between Euphonik and Bonang ended on a poisonous note (with accusations of abuse), and its repercussions can still be felt even after their 2012 split.

D’Banj

Bonang and D’Banj looked to have all the ingredients of a pan-African mega pair. That was until D’Banj confessed his adoration for “the love of his life”… who wasn’t Bonang.

AKA

It seemed like Bonang had met “the one” in AKA after a string of unsuccessful romances. Their romance got off to a difficult start when they found themselves in a love triangle with DJ Zinhle, but things appeared to be going swimmingly until they broke up at the end of 2017.

Banele Mbere

Reportedly dating one of the Major League DJs’ twins, Banele Mbere, in 2019. The rumour originated when Bonang tweeted “…my baby & I, gon’ have a lovely life…”.
