Purpose of the Job: The Receptionist plays a crucial role in our organization by warmly welcoming visitors and efficiently managing the switchboard.

This ensures that calls are directed accurately and messages are promptly conveyed to the relevant staff members.

As the first point of contact, you will represent Shoprite to staff, clients, customers, and stakeholders with professionalism and courtesy.

Job Objectives:

• Answer calls in a professional manner and route them appropriately.
• Greet clients and visitors with a positive and helpful demeanor.
• Provide accurate information in person, over the phone, and via email.
• Assist in preparing meetings and responding to email inquiries.
• Manage stock and stationery ordering and maintenance.
• Ensure all tasks are executed according to established procedures and standards.
• Propose and implement initiatives to enhance the role’s effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 certificate (essential).

Experience:

• At least 4 years of experience in an administrative/secretarial/clerical role (essential).
• Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook (desired).
• Experience in a retail or FMCG environment (desired).

Knowledge and Skills:
