Minimum Requirements:

N6 Certificate or TVET college statement of results
Letter from the TVET college confirming the need for 18 months of work experience
South African citizenship and residency near the SASSA office
Unemployed status

Stipend: R 3,500 per month

Learner Responsibilities:

Complete 18 months of workplace training at the designated SASSA office
Adhere to all internship administrative requirements
Timely completion of the mentor-supervised logbook
Provide support to the management team under mentor supervision

The learnership program provides an opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience in areas such as community development, social work, counseling, and case management. The program is also designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills to work with vulnerable communities and individuals, including children, the elderly, and people living with disabilities.

The SASSA learnership program is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

Must be a South African citizen
Must have a matric or equivalent qualification
Must be between the ages of 18 and 35
Must not be employed
Must not have participated in a learnership program before

The learnership program is offered for a period of 12 months and includes both theoretical and practical training. The program covers a range of topics, including social work, community development, counseling, case management, and legal and regulatory frameworks.
