Matzikama Local Municipality, situated in the West Coast of the Western Cape Province, is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to fill various positions.

The municipality serves the towns of Vredendal, Vanrhynsdorp, Klawer, Lutzville, Koekenaap, Doringbaai, Strandfontein, Ebenhaeser, Papendorp, Bitterfontein, Nuwerus, Kliprand, Stofkraal, Molsvlei, Putsekloof, and Rietpoort.

Available Positions:

1. Manager: Protection Services – Vredendal
2. Traffic Officer (2 vacancies) – Vredendal
3. Disaster Management Officer – Vredendal
4. Superintendent: Civil Maintenance – Vanrhynsdorp
5. Superintendent: Civil Maintenance – Klawer
6. Human Capital Officer: Labour Relations

Key Performance Areas and Requirements:

Each position has specific key performance areas and requirements, including relevant qualifications, experience, and skills.

The requirements range from a Grade 12 certificate to a tertiary qualification, and relevant experience in the field.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of each position vary, but include managing and leading teams, enforcing municipal by-laws and national legislation, providing traffic services, disaster management, and maintenance of infrastructure.

Salary and Benefits:

The salaries for each position range from R234 996 per annum (TASK post level T9) to R538 908 per annum (TASK post level T15).

Benefits include participation in the Municipality’s Motor Vehicle Scheme for Senior Officials and the Essential Motor Vehicle Scheme, if required.

Requirements:

Grade 10 (Grade 12 preferred)
Valid Driver’s License (Preferred)
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (Bilingual)

Duties:

Maintain cleanliness in the mechanical workshop area
Wash mayoral vehicles promptly upon arrival and release them efficiently
Conduct inspections on council vehicles in the yard
Report vehicle status and workshop hazards to the supervisor
Safely handle loading and unloading of materials and equipment
Assist with labor tasks as directed by supervisors
Undertake any additional tasks assigned by management

Salary: R 142,608.00 p.a – R 156,228.00 p.a (Level 13, Grade 08 Local Authority)
Total package inclusive of benefits: R 265,897.52 p.a
