Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is thrilled to announce an exceptional opportunity within our Manufacturing department.

We are seeking dynamic and talented individuals with relevant skills and experience for the role of In-Service Trainee: Processing.

This position is available in various regions across CCBSA, including Midrand, Devland, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Elign, and Bloemfontein.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Unit Manager: Processing.

Key Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to provide support in the syrup room by producing final syrup intended for supply to the production lines.

The In-Service Trainee will be responsible for conducting checks and analyses on the final syrup to ensure adherence to Coca-Cola’s KORE principles and regulatory requirements, thereby ensuring the production of soft drinks that meet all standards.

Additionally, the candidate will be exposed to significant levels of automation and process control and will assist in completing validations on various in-house processes.

There will also be opportunities to contribute to process optimization initiatives within the Syrup Room.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Specialist Analysis:
    • Prepare syrups for production lines.
    • Utilize SAP systems to ensure governance and process requirements are met.
    • Monitor and predict systems and controls.
    • Conduct process validations and execute relevant projects.
    • Troubleshoot basic automation and control failures.
    • Conduct specialized quality analyses and record results.
    • Analyze results to identify problems and improvement opportunities.
    • Apply lean manufacturing principles.
    • Conduct calibration of specialist equipment and provide assistance to shift-based teams.
  • Quality Auditing:
    • Conduct required and requested quality audits.
    • Review quality analysis procedures and calibration procedures of shift-based teams.
    • Initiate corrective actions arising from quality audits.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Support shift-based production teams in problem-solving.
    • Participate in functional expert assessments and incorporate learnings into procedures.
  • Training:
    • Assist in training needs analysis.
    • Contribute to the development of training material.
    • Assist with training of shift-based production teams on quality analyses.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Carry out specialized analyses to evaluate continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Participate in team evaluations of continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Assist with regional and divisional process optimization initiatives.

Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Qualifications:
    • Grade 12 with Mathematics and physical sciences passed.
    • Proficiency in two South African Languages.
    • Studying towards National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
    • Must not have previously completed the same qualification/learnership elsewhere.
  • Other Requirements:
    • South African Citizen.
    • Employment Equity candidate.
    • Unemployed at the time of appointment.
    • Age between 18-35 years.
    • Willingness to complete In-Service/Experiential Training.
    • Program duration: 12 months.
