Traffic Officer Learnership Overview

Numerous organizations, including the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Provincial Government of Gauteng, and Road Traffic Management Corporation, offer Traffic Officer learnerships spanning at least 12 months.

South African citizens keen on becoming traffic officers undergo comprehensive training, covering road regulations, vehicle knowledge, and traffic management. The curriculum adheres to SAQA standards, ensuring a holistic learning experience.

Eligibility Requirements:

Candidates applying for the Traffic Officer learnership should meet the following criteria:

• Maximum age: 35 years
• South African citizenship with valid ID
• Valid Code B driving license
• Minimum Grade 12 educational qualification
• Proficiency in English and at least one other language
• No criminal record
• Medical fitness for strenuous exercise
• Competency to possess firearms as per the Firearms Control Act
• Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts
• Exceptional communication skills
• Not involved in employee dismissal process

Application Process:

1. Obtain the application form from the institute’s office.
2. Complete the Z83 form, available at Public Service Departments.
3. Include certified copies of ID, qualification certificates, transcripts, driving license, detailed CV, proof of address, and contactable references.
4. Be prepared for possible relocation and travel as required.
