Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator: Legal Land Administration to join our Park Planning and Development unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating legal land governance and administrative tasks to ensure SANParks compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and processes regarding land inclusion.

Requirements:

– LLB or equivalent
– LLM/PGDip in environmental or property law (desirable)

– 1-3 years of experience in administration of legal land processes and procedures
– Good understanding of legal and admin processes and procedures
– Experience in protected area legislation (National Environmental Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003)
– Experience in property-related administration
– Fully computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Packages
– Valid Code 08 or equivalent driver’s licence
– Member of the Environmental Law Association (desirable)

Responsibilities:

– Prepare land inclusion agreements and contracts
– Coordinate and support the convening of the SANParks Land Inclusion and Planning Committee meetings

– Coordinate the development of the Land Inclusion Implementation plan and land inclusion plan
– Conduct enquiries regarding rights on land and property due diligence assessments
– Vet legal land-related contracts and property documents
– Establish and update the land inclusion property database
– Develop and maintain databases of contract national park agreements, due diligence reports, land rights information, and EIA authorisations

Requirements:

– Grade 12
– Electrical, Aircon, Refrigerator, Plumbing or related Trade Certificate (advantageous)
– Code 10 driver’s license with PDP
– Minimum 3 years of practical experience in a technical/maintenance field

– Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical maintenance, and equipment repairs
– Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

– Basic general administration skills

Responsibilities:

– Carry out maintenance tasks such as repairs, plumbing, welding, and electrical works

– Record maintenance works performed and needs

– Transport equipment, materials, and staff, and conduct vehicle inspections
