Position: Receptionist (4 positions available)

Division: Netcare Primary Care Division

Reporting Structure: Clinic Manager

Role Summary: As a Receptionist at Netcare Hospitals, you will be a brand ambassador, providing exceptional person-centered health and care services. Your responsibilities include offering quality customer service, maintaining a clean reception area, handling administrative tasks, managing the switchboard, and assisting with billing and pay-point functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of patient information on the billing system.
• Maintain a neat and tidy reception area.
• Handle admission and discharge procedures accurately.
• Address customer complaints and escalate unresolved issues to the manager.
• Manage banking and cash processes as per Standard Operating Procedures.
• Handle telephonic inquiries and record messages accurately.
• Schedule appointments according to patients’ preferences.
• Assist patients with necessary documentation for the admission process.
• Verify patient details and update records.
• Direct patients to appropriate services and professionals.
• Monitor patient waiting times and keep patients informed.
• Ensure correct billing for patients, including Medical Aid patients.
• Coordinate appointments with specialists as requested by practitioners.
• Manage requests for repeat scripts accurately and promptly.

Skills Profile:

Education:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 certificate.
• Higher certificate in Business Management or related field.

Work Experience:

• Previous experience in a hospital/clinic environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Schemes advantageous.
• Computer literacy and SAP experience required.

Knowledge:

• Thorough understanding of general/primary care nursing theory and practice.
• Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices, especially in intensive care nursing.

• Continuous Improvement: Capacity to improve systems and processes for continuous enhancement.

• Communication: Ability to clearly present information, both written and verbal.
• Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with others toward common goals.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in relevant technical skills and knowledge.
