The Municipality is seeking a qualified and motivated Area Cleansing Officer to join their team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Job Purpose

As an Area Cleansing Officer, your primary responsibility will be to implement the collection of domestic, commercial, industrial, and garden waste in accordance with relevant regulations and bylaws.

You will be responsible for staff control and administration, controlling the operations of the area, and liaising with the public, other municipal departments, and outside organizations on various concerns raised.

– Staff control and administration

– Enforce bylaws and tariffs and attend to law enforcement of waste management services

– Represent the branch at various council/working group/liaison or similar meetings

Requirements

– Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Operations Management, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Waste

Management, Public Management, Logistics Management, or any other related and equivalent qualification

– Valid motor vehicle driving license
– 3 Years relevant experience
– Preferred: 4 Years relevant experience

Special Conditions

– Post of Area Cleansing Officer are interchangeable within the Department at the discretion of the Head (Cleansing and Solid Waste)
– Incumbents must be prepared to work planned and unplanned overtime should the need arise
