Job Title: Handyman (2 vacancies)
*Location:* Table Mountain National Park
Requirements:
– Grade 12
– Electrical, Aircon, Refrigerator, Plumbing or related Trade Certificate (advantageous)
– Code 10 driver’s license with PDP
– Minimum 3 years of practical experience in a technical/maintenance field
– Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical maintenance, and equipment repairs
– Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
– Basic general administration skills
– Ability to work under pressure and in unfavorable conditions
– Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays as required
Responsibilities:
– Carry out maintenance tasks such as repairs, plumbing, welding, and electrical works
– Perform routine maintenance of tourist buildings, terrain, staff accommodation, and infrastructure services
– Assist with inspection of maintenance contractors’ work
– Record maintenance works performed and needs
– Transport equipment, materials, and staff, and conduct vehicle inspections
– Storekeeping and inventory of tools and equipment
– Assist with planning, scheduling, and execution of technical tasks
– Order stock and assist with supply chain processes
– Perform basic housekeeping and other ad-hoc tasks
– Assist with general administrative tasks such as recording stock and inventory, completing time sheets, and leave forms
Remuneration:
– Basic salary (Paterson B2 job grade)
– Allowances and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Service of SANParks
– Salary range: R137,509.70 – R188,179.21
