Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking a hardworking and self-disciplined General Worker to join their Traffic Section team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning offices, maintaining gardens, and performing other related duties as requested by management.
Requirements:
– Basic Literacy or Grade 10 (Grade 12 added advantage)
– Valid Driver’s License (added advantage)
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (must be bilingual)
– Ability to follow and execute given instructions
– Good physical health and basic skill and knowledge of physical work
– 1-year relevant experience as a general worker/cleaner within Local Government Authority or similar environment
– Residency within the jurisdiction of Midvaal Local Municipality
Duties:
– Cleaning offices using various materials and equipment
– Maintaining gardens by cutting grass and picking up papers
– Performing other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested by management
Salary:
– R142 608.00 p.a. – R156 228.00 p.a. (Level 13 of a Grade 8 Local Authority)
– Total package inclusive of all benefits: R265 897.52 p.a.

Truck Driver: Waste and Environmental Management

Job Description:
Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join their Waste and Environmental Management team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a skip, tipper truck, and compactors, loading and off-loading material, and ensuring effective service delivery.
Requirements:
– Grade 10 (Grade 12 added advantage)
– Driver’s License Code EC (14) with valid Public Drivers Permit (PDP)
– Communication and interpersonal skills
– Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
– Two (02) years relevant driving experience within Local Government Authority
Duties:
– Drive trucks and ensure productivity and performance
– Plan daily tasks and follow instructions from the Foreman/Supervisor
– Perform administrative duties and manage equipment
– Assist in other work when necessary
– Comply with truck driving rules and regulations
– Collect and verify delivery instructions
– Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving
– Report defects, incidents, violations, and accidents timeously
– Coordinate with Supervisor and Fleet Coordinator for vehicle maintenance
– Ensure the truck is kept in good condition and maintenance is up to date
– Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues
– Perform preventative maintenance and other Ad Hoc tasks as requested
Salary:
– R 188 604.00 – R 212 124.00 p.a. (Level 10 of a Grade 8 Local Authority)
