Key Responsibilities

As a Sales Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

– Delivering and achieving sales opportunities through business unit sales strategy
– Finalizing client transactions and ensuring client signature for final product acceptance
– Improving performance based on management guidance and feedback
– Obtaining referrals from existing clients and in-branch staff
– Marketing financial products to new and existing clients and stakeholders
– Collaborating with segment colleagues to ensure new business opportunities are fulfilled
– Building relationships with clients and stakeholders through regular contact and excellent service standards

– Resolving client queries and educating clients on product offerings
– Developing effective partnerships with clients and identifying effective financial solutions

– Acting as a client’s banking partner and providing regular feedback
– Ensuring retention of clients’ full banking relationship through client service and contact

– Planning and implementing effective prospecting activities
– Meeting requirements of product applications and ensuring all client details are correct
– Scheduling work according to action plans and reporting daily sales statistics
– Ensuring effective administration and controls in the branch portfolio
– Reducing fraudulent transactions by reporting suspicious transactions
– Ensuring technical, company standards, and practices are met

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

– A minimum of 3 years of Retail Banking experience, with 1-2 years at Sales Consultant level
– Exposure to Small Business Services clients
– A NQF Level Matric/Grade 12/National Senior Certificate

– Preferably a Sales or Marketing Certificate or Bcomm Marketing or Commerce
– Technical/professional knowledge of administrative procedures, banking procedures, business principles, and relevant regulatory knowledge
– Business writing skills and cluster-specific operational knowledge

– Behavioral competencies in leveraging a winning sales strategy, advancing sales discussions, building trusting relationships, targeting sales opportunities, qualifying sales, building networks, driving for results, and sustaining customer satisfaction
