Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service: Assist customers in finding products, address queries, and handle complaints to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  2. Cashier Duties: Process cash and card payments, manage Lay Bys, handle customer refunds, and ensure till balancing.
  3. Merchandising: Price and display stock accurately, maintain product availability on the sales floor, and uphold housekeeping standards while staying informed about promotions.
  4. Risk Management: Tag products according to company policy, participate in stock takes, and report any suspicious activities to management.
  5. Adherence to Policies: Consistently uphold Ackermans’ values, policies, and procedures in all aspects of your work.

Job Title: Advertising Specialist (Cellular)
Location: Ackermans Support Centre, Kuils River, Cape Town
Employment Type: Full-time, In-office
About Us:
We are in search of a dynamic Marketeer to spearhead cellular promotions and campaigns across various media platforms. As an integral part of our Marketing team, you will report directly to the Marketing Manager and play a pivotal role in budget management, events coordination, and ensuring comprehensive training adherence. Join us in fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders and networks to maintain Connect brand relevance and uphold the Ackermans brand promise.
Expense Management:
Efficiently manage and control the budget.
Advertising Operational Plan:
Develop, execute, and coordinate the cellular promotional calendar.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain relationships, coordinating all communication between networks, manufacturers, ad agencies, cellular team, operations, and stores regarding promotions.
Marketing Initiatives & Training:
Support the cellular team with training and promotions initiatives.
VM Alignment:
Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to ensure appropriate visual representation of cellular in the business.
Minimum 5 years of relevant marketing experience in a marketing/advertising/agency environment.
National Diploma/Degree in Marketing Management/Advertising or equivalent qualification.
Retail experience would be advantageous.
Experience working for or with a Telecommunication provider would be advantageous.

Network and Agency systems and procedures.
Production house systems and procedures.
Media partner systems and procedures.
Finance and invoicing systems and procedures.
Visual merchandising.
Working knowledge and understanding of media terminology.
