What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with the design team to execute strategic initiatives.
- Research and analyze global retail trends, ensuring our collections remain current and competitive.
- Translate trend insights into actionable design concepts, optimizing product assortments for maximum appeal.
- Create technical drawings to guide product development and buying decisions.
- Work closely with the buying team to align product offerings with market demands.
- Keep abreast of in-season shifts, leveraging insights to identify new opportunities for growth.
Skills and Qualifications:
Skills:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of global and local fashion trends.
- Ability to anticipate and capitalize on future retail trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Creative flair combined with analytical thinking.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the retail merchandise cycle.
- Understanding of fabric properties and trends.
- Awareness of emerging macro and micro trends in fashion and culture.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate/Matric.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Fashion Design or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in clothing design, preferably in Apparel or Trend & Design roles.
